When the WMS goes down, the warehouse stops.
In a modern warehouse, almost nothing gets done without the system anymore: receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, transport documents. When the system doesn't respond, the scanners become useless objects, and the activity moves to paper, where errors appear that are discovered days later, at inventory or directly by the client.
At the same time, security requirements have reached logistics through clients. GEO 155/2024, the act transposing the NIS2 Directive into Romania, directly targets only certain categories of transport operators. Clients under its scope, however, also have to manage the risks in the supply chain, and the security questionnaire reaches the transport and logistics supplier more and more often. Added to this are EDI links with clients and integrations with customs systems.
We know what an operation that never stops means and an infrastructure spread across warehouses, docks and offices.
Six situations we encounter in transport and logistics
The WMS or TMS goes down in the middle of a shift.
The scanners don't respond, receiving jams, dispatch works on paper. No one can say with certainty when the system will come back, because no one monitors it actively.
The warehouse Wi-Fi coverage has gaps everyone knows about, but no one has measured.
Zones where scanners lose their connection, aisles where operators repeat the operation. It's treated as a minor inconvenience, even though it's a daily productivity loss.
The EDI links with clients and the customs integrations aren't monitored.
When a link goes down, you find out from the client or from customs, not from your own system.
Clients ask for security evidence you don't have on paper.
A large client sends a questionnaire about access control, backup and incident management — often because it, too, is responsible for its own supply chain. Without documented answers, contract renewal can be delayed.
The backup runs, but the restore hasn't been tested.
In case of an incident, the important question isn't „do we have a backup?", but „how soon does the warehouse resume activity?".
The operation runs non-stop. IT support, eight hours.
What goes down at night stays that way until morning, and what goes down on the weekend, until Monday. Even if trucks are waiting at the dock.
In a logistics operation, every hour of downtime has a cost that can be calculated. An assessment puts on paper where the fragile points are, what clients and regulations require, what's worth remediating first. Schedule a conversation with our engineers.
The ITPS approach in logistics
Monitoring and intervention, non-stop.
Through our Managed Services, critical systems — WMS, TMS, ERP, the EDI links, the warehouse network — are monitored continuously. We often intervene before the shift notices. Response times are set by contract and SLA.
A network designed for the warehouse, not for the office.
We measure the effective radio coverage and size the network for real conditions — tall racks, cold zones, environments with interference — then document the result.
Monitoring of the links with clients and authorities.
The EDI links, client portals and customs integrations are treated as critical systems: an interruption generates an alert, not a phone call from the client.
A process for detecting, classifying and escalating incidents.
Together with you, we define the process by which an incident is detected, classified and escalated on time, with written roles and steps. It's also one of the first questions in a security questionnaire.
Backup and restore tests, measured in operation-resumption time.
We don't consider a backup functional until its restore has been tested and recorded. We give a clear answer to the question „how soon does the warehouse resume activity?".
Redundant links between warehouses and offices.
We design the data communications so that a failure on the main route doesn't isolate a warehouse from the central systems.
Non-stop coverage, like your operation.
Our contracts cover the intervals in which the company actually works — including nights and weekends. This is one of the reasons 95% of our clients choose to renew their contracts.
The relevant services for transport and logistics
Of the six services we offer, four are of particular importance for a transport or logistics operator:
Managed Services →
Monitoring of systems and the warehouse network, with on-site interventions and non-stop coverage.
Backup & Disaster Recovery →
Backups for the WMS, TMS and critical systems, with documented restore tests and a clear operation-resumption plan.
Hosting & Colocation →
A second point for critical systems, in our Tier III datacenter in Timișoara — replication and continuity when the warehouse infrastructure is unavailable.
IT Audit & Consulting →
A complete analysis of the IT environment against client requirements and applicable regulations, with remediations catalogued by priority.

Compliance and certifications
GEO 155/2024 directly targets only certain categories of transport operators, but large clients — some of them under the scope of the ordinance — increasingly ask for data-security evidence from their logistics suppliers. ITPS operates its own Tier III datacenter, with ISO 27001:2022 (information security) and ISO 9001 (quality management) certifications, keeping data on Romanian territory. We don't promise to „make you compliant" — compliance remains your organization's responsibility. What we do concretely: implement the technical measures, build the documentation that proves them and sign the agreements that define each party's responsibilities.

Request an assessment of the operation-interruption risk.
An ITPS engineer analyzes the current state of your infrastructure together with you: what happens when the WMS goes down, what the warehouse coverage looks like, what clients and regulations require, what's worth remediating by priority.
We reply within the next business day.
